Using EPA data and a method developed by California researchers, the Natural Resources Defense Council created a map of Chicago showing neighborhoods that shoulder the greatest burden for environmental threats. The BGA replicated the methodology and created an interactive map that adds a national comparison.
Scores for each Census block group were determined by tallying 11 environmental hazards and six sociodemographic factors.
Search a street address to find its blockgroup and data. You may have to include the ZIP Code as well.
